Women are completely underserved when it comes to brain health and we are here to change that. We aim to bring you back in touch with your brain and body so you can evolve into the most potent version of yourself. The perfect one that has always been there.
Women are much more likely to experience brain related dis-ease - from mental health conditions, right through to neurodegenerative diseases like dementia, relative to men. 2 out of every 3 people with Alzheimer’s Disease are women. Dementia poses a significant threat to women's health. Here in Australia, dementia is the leading cause of death in women over 65, yet no one is talking about it!
There is an urgent need for education, advocacy and community in this space. We're here to have the conversations that no one else is willing to. Our mission is to provide you with evidence based information, education and programming so you can nurture your brain physically, psychologically and in purpose.
In this world that is not designed for the female brain to thrive, we want to empower you with the knowledge, guidance and support you need to lead, perform and create at the highest level. We give you permission to rediscover and reconnect with your feminine, to go against the grain and push back against the pressure to live any other way than in alignment with your most authentic self.
We will guide you to come back into your body, and find a peaceful, loving home there. Invite awareness, connection and attunement so you can evolve beyond the physical to unlock the highest version of your cognitive potential. Everything you need is already inside of you.
We invite you to join the Collective.
Witnessing her grandfather live with dementia and seeing the devastating impact it had, not only on him, but the people that loved him, sparked Lauren's deep interest in brain health and dementia prevention. With a background in naturopathic medicine, she felt there had to be a better way.
She quickly discovered that despite the billions being poured into dementia drug discovery, over 99% of treatments were unsuccessful. Prevention was the key, not treatment. As she dove deeper into the available research, she was shocked to discover that women were twice as likely to be impacted by Alzheimer's Disease, yet no one was talking about it! The research focussed on women was sparse at best. She decided women deserved better and this was the catalyst for her to pursue a career dedicated to female brain health.
Lauren is a PhD scholar in neurocognition (receiving a scholarship from the Dementia Centre for Research Collaboration) at NICM Health Research Institute, Western Sydney University where she is investigating nutritional and lifestyle interventions for brain health and dementia prevention. She will shortly be launching a randomised, controlled clinical trial looking at the effects of an exogenous ketone supplement versus placebo on cognition in postmenopausal women with subjective cognitive decline. Her Master's thesis (High Distinction) looked at brain wave activity in people with MCI who supplemented with Chinese herbal medicine, SaiLuoTong, versus placebo to explore the potential underlying mechanisms of the medicine on various cognitive outcomes like memory and executive function. Lauren has worked with some of Australia's largest global health and beauty brands such as The Blackmores Group and Vida Glow in lead scientific and ambassadorship roles, advisory, education, science communication and product formulation. She has sat on the board of directors for the NHAA and is an international keynote speaker.
It wasn't until Lauren struggled with her own mental and physical health that she realised something was missing from the conversation around women's brains. Brain health is not just physical, it is psychological and it is purpose driven. She saw the women around her in survival mode, as she was, and knew something had to change. This sparked her own personal journey of rediscovery, reconnection and redirection. Combining her clinical, scientific and industry experience, Cognisante Collective was born out Lauren's desire to empower women with the knowing that there is a better way, and guide them along that path.
Merging an integrative approach to health, incorporating ancient practices with the latest in scientific evidence, Lauren aims to help you create a sustainable lifestyle that will allow you and your brain to thrive. She is on a mission to help women worldwide unlock their highest cognitive potential and elevate into the most vibrant versions of themselves.
